Chalcopyrite, also known as Peacock Ore is the most widespread copper-bearing mineral in the World. The name comes from the combination of the Greek words khalkosor and chalkos, which translates to Copper and Pyrite respectively.
Chalcopyrite is acclaimed as the mineral upon which the Bronze age was built, it's believed that the ancient Egyptians used the Copper extracted from Chalcopyrite mixed with Tin to obtain Bronze as early as 3900 BCE
